Your First Track Day: What to Expect
Before You Arrive
Your first track day starts before you even reach the circuit. Wear comfortable clothes that cover your arms and legs — long trousers and a long-sleeved shirt are ideal. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory; trainers work perfectly. Leave the flip-flops at the hotel. Bring sunscreen, a water bottle, and sunglasses for the pit lane, but know that everything you need for the car is provided.
The Safety Briefing
Every session begins with a comprehensive safety briefing. Our team walks you through the circuit layout turn by turn, explains the flag system, and covers pit lane entry and exit procedures. You will learn the racing line for key corners and understand where the overtaking zones are (and are not). This is not a formality — pay attention, because it will make your laps faster and safer.
Meeting Your Instructor
Every first-timer is paired with a professional driving instructor. They ride alongside you in the passenger seat, guiding you through each corner with real-time coaching. They will tell you when to brake, where to turn in, and when to get back on the throttle. Think of them as your personal racing coach for the day.
The Cars
Depending on the experience you have booked, you will be driving anything from a Porsche 718 Cayman to a Lamborghini Huracán. Every car in our fleet is maintained to race-ready standards with fresh tyres, full roll cages, and racing harnesses. The cars are powerful but approachable — our instructors will help you find the limit progressively.
What Speed Feels Like
Your first lap will feel impossibly fast. By your third lap, the speed starts to feel normal. By your fifth, you will be looking for more. This is the magic of a track day — the circuit is a controlled environment where you can safely explore the limits of both the car and yourself. There are no speed cameras, no oncoming traffic, and no junctions.
The Debrief
After your session, you will sit down with your instructor to review in-car footage and telemetry data. You will see your speed trace, braking points, and racing line overlaid on a circuit map. This is where the learning happens — and where you start planning your next visit.
Tips for First-Timers
- Look ahead. The car goes where your eyes go. Look at the corner exit, not the apex.
- Smooth inputs. Gentle steering, progressive braking, gradual throttle. Smoothness is speed.
- Trust your instructor. They have thousands of laps around this circuit. Listen to them.
- Hydrate. Tropical heat plus adrenaline equals dehydration. Drink water at every break.
- Book the right experience. If you have never been on track, start with an Intro Drive or Supercar Experience. Save the Radical Track Day for your second visit.
